Four men aged between 21 and 31 including a board member of the Pirate Party, have been jailed for running a network of pirate sites. The men will serve between six and ten months in prison sentences for their part in running streaming portal Dreamfilm and ordered to pay damages of around $147,000 to the film industry. The four were also involved in other sites including Piratehub and Tankefetast. The sentences imposed are similar to those handed down to the operators of The Pirate Bay.
Swedish police turned their focus to one of the country’s top streaming portals, Dreamfilm.se which accounts for up to 25% of online viewing in Sweden shortly after it shut down The Pirate Bay in December 2014.
