Microsoft has unveiled its version of the next smart home assistant set to rival the Amazon Echo.

The device labelled Harman Kardon & cortana is shown off in a YouTube video and has a man saying phrases similar to what you would for the echo such as “Cortana remind me to book concert tickets”.

The battle to be the leader in the smart home is heating up after Amazon running the show since November 2014 and Google recently releasing their version the home hub.

Currently Apple hasn’t mentioned any plans of releasing a rival which isn’t unusual, Amazon recently released the Echo to the UK whilst Google home hub is only available in the USA.

The new device from Microsoft is set to launch sometime in 2017 and you can view Microsoft’s promotional video here.
