Texting from the Apple Watch is a handy feature however the scribble feature can be a bit of a pain. Unfortunately Apple doesn’t have a built in keyboard option on the Watch yet.

WhatsApp doesn’t have an Apple Watch app and given that Facebook doesn’t have an app for the Apple Watch for the Facebook or Instagram it’s unlikely that we will see a WhatsApp Watch app anytime soon.

Thankfully developer Alexander Nowak has the solution with WatchChat, WatchChat links to your whatsapp account via a QR code and let’s you dictate a message using a keyboard directly on your Apple Watch.

With WatchChat you are able to respond to your contacts without the need to have your phone in your hand. The response is extremely fast as we show in the video below.

With other features of WatchChat, you can

– access all of your WhatsApp chats (and group chats) – reply to chats via keyboard, quick replies, dictation and scribble

– use a variety of different keyboard layouts*

– customize quick replies and chat font size

– start a new chat right from the Watch

– listen to voice messages

– view pictures

I’ve searched the AppStore and I’ve yet to find a Watch app that offers this level of responsiveness. The developer has kindly agreed to give us 10 copies of WatchChat to give away to our readers.
