When does deleting an app not actually delete it? The answer is when it’s iOS 10. Apple promised awhile back that users would get the ability to delete stock iOS apps, and this appeared to come to reality in beta 1 of iOS 10.
During an appearance on John Gruber’s Daring Fireball podcast “The Talk Show,” Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering Craig Federighi explained that the “deletion” feature won’t actually remove the apps from your iPhone or iPad, since the software binaries will stay part of iOS.*
Users are basically able to clear up their Homescreen of the icon but not actually free up any space.
What do you think of this revelation?
