For some time now Amazon has offered same day delivery of groceries to its prime customers in the US. The company has even made ordering easy by allowing its customers to order products using Alexa the Amazon echo.
In the UK there has been no such thing, however from Thursday this will change, Amazon Prime customers will be able to order their weekly shopping in central and east London area and just like the US they will get it delivered the same day.
Amazon plans to roll the deliveries out across the UK, however, the company has not set a specific date.
“We are launching with a comprehensive offer in a limited area and will take our time to hone our service,” said Ajay Kavan from AmazonFresh.
Currently Amazon UK sells long-life products such as cereals, pasta and nappies and a limited amount of fresh food through its Prime Now service, but this will certainly change as the service grows.
