Apple has released a statement saying it has pushed the HomePod’s release target into early 2018.
Apple originally announced the HomePod at WWDC in June and announced a December release.
In a statement to 9to5mac Apple said “We can’t wait for people to experience HomePod, Apple’s breakthrough wireless speaker for the home, but we need a little more time before it’s ready for our customers. We’ll start shipping in the US, UK, and Australia in early 2018.”
The news will come as a blow to Apple fans who were hoping to get the HomePod for Christmas. Apple also delayed the AirPods last year. The delay may see some people opt for the Amazon Echo or Google Home which are both reduced ahead of Black Friday.
