Carphone Warehouse which traditionally only sells plans offered by other providers has today launched its own mobile phone network called iD, “piggybacking” off Three Mobile’s network.

The company it says it will continue to offer plans by other companies even though it has now introduced its own into the market.

Plans on the new network, which are available at iD’s and Carphone Warehouse’s websites and at Carphone Warehouse stores, come with 4G as standard, You also can’t buy handsets from iD without taking out a plan with it too.

The move could be a strategic move after two of the major networks pulled their services from another similar company Phones4u which resulted in the chains collapse and loss of hundreds of jobs.
